The Solar Dawn consortium, which also comprises AREVA Solar and Wind Prospect, is planning the development of a 250 MW solar thermal power plant in Chinchilla in south west Queensland.
Follwoing CS Energy’s withdrawal, the Solar Dawn Consortium has announced that the project’s technology developer, AREVA Solar, will be responsible for operating and maintaining the proposed Solar Dawn power plant following its commissioning.
CS Energy’s Chief Executive, David Brown, said that at this time, the company was concentrating on investing in the operation and maintenance of its existing assets and projects, rather than committing to new capital projects.
“While CS Energy is no longer a part of the Solar Dawn Consortium, we are working with AREVA Solar on our $104 million Kogan Creek Solar Boost Project,” Mr Brown said.
