Also part of the Central Victoria Solar City project, construction at Ballarat Solar Park is due to commence shortly at the local airport.

Each solar park will be a 300 kW facility and provide 150 households in each town, with solar power the equivalent of installing a 2 kW PV system on their roof. Each park requires in excess of 30,000 square meters of land which is the equivalent of almost three soccer or two AFL fields. The solar parks will have sun tracking capabilities and the Bendigo Park will also have storage capacity.

The city will continue to launch its other project offers to the community over the next six months. These offers include discounts on solar hot water systems and individual PV installations as well as household retrofits and energy efficiency audits. A formal launch will be held once the solar parks are constructed.
